Lisa B. Gold is an Applied Behavior Analyst for over 25 years and has become a renowned pioneer in succinctly and rapidly improving behavior. She implements the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Social Thinking into her unique system she calls “High on the Spectrum”. Her methodology was developed while working with thousands of clients from all ends of the spectrum, allowing her to pinpoint the vast individual differences of each client.
Over the past decade, Lisa’s passion, attentiveness and focus have been on a subgroup she calls, “The Betweenner's". People so high on the Spectrum of Autism they are quite often misread, misdiagnosed and mistreated by peers, teachers and therapists when in fact proper remediation is simple and straightforward both in early or late intervention and paramount in order to belong in our world.
Lisa’s behavior system, is one the most effective processes known to date. First hand she remediates the individuals social interaction deficits, the root of all of his/her behavior problems. Over focused interests, repetitive behaviors, lack of pragmatic and conversation skills and functional communication (yes and no) social reciprocity deficiency, lack of understanding social cues, and lack of empathy and a lack of interest to name a few lie far outside social interaction so a person’s development deviates more and more from peers over time. As the deviation with peers grows larger and larger year after year, maladaptive behaviors and coping mechanisms that emerge from being bullied, rejected and isolated such as self harm or harming others also escalate with sophistication when they receive improper or no help.
